Our Mission and Beliefs
We believe a Great Commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a great church.
Church Purpose
We exist as a church for the purpose of fulfilling this simple statement based on two key Scriptures:
The Great Commandment:
Jesus said, Love the Lord your God with all your heart...soul...and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments. Matthew 22:36-40
The Great Commission: Jesus said, Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:18-20
This Purpose can be seen in the five functions of our church:
To experience God's presence. (Worship)
To demonstrate God's love. (Ministry)
To communicate God's Word. (Evangelism)
To equip God's people. (Discipleship)
To associate with God’s family. (Fellowship)
Mission Statement:
The mission of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford is to call out of the darkness of this world a people whose hearts are filled with love for God, whose minds know their purpose, whose arms embrace the fellowship, whose hands are ready to serve, and whose mouths are ready to proclaim the gospel to a lost and dying world.

Making an eternal difference in Weatherford, Texas and beyond.
